THE MAN WITH PURPOSE-PART 3
Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand”.
HOW REAL IS PURPOSE?
IS IT TRUE I AM CREATED FOR SOMETHING?
OUT OF THE MANY BILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE, IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE CREATED FOR SOMETHING?
IS IT TRUE GOD HAS A DESTINY FOR ME?
IS IT TRUE GOD HAS ME IN HIS PLAN?
These are the never ending questions every individual will keep asking to find answers to. The answer is simple: YES, Purpose is real; God has a plan and a purpose for everything He created, the birds in the air, the fishes in the sea and certainly, He has a purpose for you. You were never created into the world an accident, God has a reason He formed every man. (Jeremiah 1:5-Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations).
From the pilot text, the scripture makes us understand that God is our Father, we are his children; God is the potter, and we are the clay. Let’s define these two terms-a potter and clay. A Potter is an individual who is into the profession of making and moulding pots and other ceramics. A potter is someone who sees something that is meaningless in itself and turns into something meaningful; something useless in itself into something useful. This is who God the father is to us. If we have seen a potter doing his thing, we would have noticed a lot of work put into it-time, skill and even understanding of what he wants to create. A potter won’t just create without first thinking the usefulness of his invention, the same way God did not just create you and I without first adding a purpose to our creation. Another thing, a potter can decide to make his first clay mixture a pot, the next a gourd and the next a bowl. This is to tell us in the realm of purpose, God has specifics for you and me. My purpose may not be your purpose; yours may not be mine. So, if we say finding purpose is an individual race, then the reason is not far-fetched. Every man has to find the purpose for which he was created.
If truly God created everyone for a purpose, are some people created by God to do evil? For instance, those killers, thugs etc., the answer is capital NO. In the realm of purpose, there are some purpose we are created with, and some purpose we acquire for ourselves-natural purpose which is our divine purpose and; earthly purpose. The natural purpose which comes from God is incorruptible while the earthly purpose is corruptible. This earthly purpose can either be good or bad and it is this choice that determines our destiny. I want us to understand that God has power both over our natural purpose and earthly purpose but there is a place of choice in the latter. You can choose God to either be in charge or you choose the devil. So, when we see the lives of killers, thugs-they are actually operating in the realm of their earthly purpose which has been corrupted. Everyone has both purposes, one we have no control over and the other which we can control, or forces around us, our environment and all can control. Have we ever wondered why a once renowned armed robber or thug can become a pastor and will have proofs to show in this assignment, this is because no matter how your earthly purpose might be or might have been corrupted, God’s divine purpose is superior to it and will always supercede it anytime.
In discovering our purpose, God is our ultimate search. In Him, only right choices will be chosen. The Bible admonishes us to walk in the spirit; because that is the only way we can fulfill his purpose on earth. God is a Spirit; when you align with God, you become a Spirit-man, a spirit-being i.e. a man full of the Holy Ghost who doesn’t have any choice than to follow after his creator’s will.
(Acts 11:24a “For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith”)
